While we were at the cabin this past weekend Hizee kept saying that Charleigh was in "Doggie heaven" ... I think she was right!

We took our canoe out for the first trip of the year. We paddled around a calm section of the Cameron River.

The kids had been waiting all winter to go on hikes. We are now capitilizing on the relatively mosquito free season.

These are some of the treasures Zam found on the beach the other day.

Over the May long week-end we stayed at a cabin. The kids enjoyed using the outhouse.

Hizee was given an old fashioned easy-bake oven (thanks Jill and Steve) and has entered baker's heaven!

The hiking opportunities in, and around, Yellowknife are endless. This weekend we tackled the nearby Prelude Trail which offers a little bit of everything: sand, patches of dense forest, vast expanses of sparsely treed rock, and sharp rock outcroppings with amazing views of large and small lakes!

Hey, this kinda sounds like a tourist brouchure! What better way to entice some of you guys to come and visit us!

Whether it be hitching a ride in the backpack or inspecting the rocks, Ziko absolutely loves going for hikes! He particularily loves the rock climbing aspect of hiking and approachs it with a hardcore intensity which rivals that of his Dad!
