Grandma Pat and Grandpa John came to visit us for a week. WOW, did we ever have fun! Some of the highlights included: hiking to Cameron Falls (and other areas around Yellowknife), helping Grandma Pat paint our kitchen bright yellow, touring all of our favourite spots in Yellowknife, reading lots and lots of books, making "stick bread" over the fire, having "Christmas in August" (they brought some of our Christmas presents and the paper the presents were wrapped in accidently ripped in their suitcases so we had to open them), and looking at slides of Daddy and hearing stories about when he was a kid (we really enjoyed this one)!
Note: The dog in this picture unfortunately does not belong to us.

Candace and "Thon" (a.k.a Shawn)!!!!!
Two of our favourite people in the world graced us their presence (and presents) for nearly a week early this month. Together we played, chatted the nights away by the fire, explored all of Yellowknife's jewels, hiked all the best hikes, and laughed like crazy! Zam and Hizee are nuts about these two wonderful people and are currently suffering from Shawn and Candace withdrawl.
We love you guys, thanks so much for coming!

Two years old is such a great age to be! Hizee is entering that time when she is coming up with the most heartwarming and humerous insights. Here are a few to tickle your eardrums:
I was brushing my teeth one day when Hizee asked me "Mommy are your teeth enjoying their shower?"
She was sitting on the counter the other day watching popcorn seeds emerge as popcorn out of the popcorn popper (those things we used before microwave popcorn) when she burst out, "Good for you seeds!"
Upon finding a small puddle on a walk she announced "Hey Daddy, I found a tiny wetland!"
